The Bannockburn Primary School pupil has an inspirational story. At the age of just two years old, the toddler called emergency services after finding his mum Lisa unconscious in their home.

Hanlon Stevenson’s quick thinking saved his mother’s life with the police and ambulance arriving promptly to take Lisa for treatment in hospital.

Since then, Hanlon Stevenson has received a Young Hero Award from Police Scotland last year and most recently, won a Chief Constable Bravery and Excellence Award for his heroics.

After hearing about the youngster’s inspirational story, the Hibernian Hanlon Stevenson Foundation contacted the family, to arrange a day-to-remember for Hanlon.

The Rangers supporter has been invited along to Easter Road for tonight’s cinch Premiership clash between Hibs and Rangers and will walk out alongside the Rangers team for the match as the team mascot.

The HSF have also bought Hanlon a full Rangers kit, new football boots and have arranged transport to take Hanlon and his family from Bannockburn to Easter Road on Wednesday.

Graeme Cadger from the Hanlon Stevenson Foundation commented: “I spoke with Hanlon’s mother Lisa and told her all about our Foundation and the work we do. She was shocked and totally unaware of the connection in name between her son and the Foundation!

“After hearing about Hanlon’s heroic story we were determined to give him a day to remember at Easter Road and have donated a mascot package with this fixture in mind.

“We have arranged for Hanlon to meet Paul and Lewis on Wednesday as well and we would like to thank both Hibernian FC and Rangers for their cooperation to help make this happen.”

Hanlon’s mother, Lisa Stevenson added: “I couldn’t believe when Graeme contacted me and I can’t thank the Hanlon Stevenson Foundation enough for this opportunity.

“Hanlon has been counting down the days to this match and it will be sure to be a day to remember for everyone.”
