The Hibs midfielder made his return to the starting XI last time out against Celtic – playing over 70 minutes at Parkhead on what was his first start for the Club since August 2022.
Speaking to Hibs TV ahead of our upcoming cinch Premiership fixture with Motherwell, Jake admitted it had been a difficult season personally with injuries.
“It has been really tough – I haven’t had a season like this before. When you are watching from the stands, you are seeing the lads out there on the pitch and you want to be playing and helping them. I have done what I can in the gym and thankfully I’m back out on the pitch.
“It was a good confidence boost for me to be put back in the team against Celtic. It was a tough game, but personally, it was great to be back out there."

Having spent the majority of the 2022/23 campaign on the sidelines, Jake is fully fit and keen to make up for lost time between now and the end of the season.
“I have had a couple of games under my belt and a lot of training so I am feeling good now.
“We need to push for the European places; that is the target. That was our goal at the start of the season and that hasn’t changed. We are in and about those places at the moment and I am confident we can do it.”
Up next, the Hibees face Motherwell this Saturday (3pm kick-off at Easter Road) – a fixture Jake is looking forward to.
“Everything has been going well in preparation, we have had a good week in training – we have all been working hard on our game plan so hopefully we can implement it on Saturday.
“Since their new Manager has come, Motherwell have gone on a good run.
"It is going to be tough, it always is against them. But we are at home, we need to concentrate on ourselves and our performances. If we do that then I am sure we will get a result.”
