THE LOWDOWN
Hibs Women host Rangers Women at Meadowbank Stadium this Sunday (kick-off 1:00pm) in Park’s Motor Group SWPL 1 action.
In their most recent match, the Hibees narrowly came up short against Glasgow City on Wednesday night and fell to a 2-1 defeat against the current league leaders. Despite the result, the performance against City was one that will likely give Dean Gibson’s side confidence heading into Sunday’s match.
The Hibees remain 5th in the Park’s Motor Group SWPL 1 table on 36 points – four above Partick Thistle Women in 6th.
THE OPPOSITION
The visitors head into Sunday’s clash with plenty of momentum having secured a 1-0 victory over Celtic Women in the Old Firm on Thursday evening.
This result means that Rangers Women have drawn level on points (69) with Celtic Women, however, still remain in 3rd place behind Fran Alonso’s side in the league due to goal difference. It also means that both sides are six points behind Glasgow City in 1st.
Rangers Women and Hibs Women have met each other on five occasions already this season – three in the league and twice in cup competition – with Malky Thomson’s side coming out on top on every occasion.
