The left-back has put pen-to-paper on a new one-year contract which will extend his stay at Easter Road until the summer of 2024.

A living legend, Stevenson has racked up a total of 572 appearances for the Club to date and this season became the Club’s all-time league appearance holder! He’s currently fourth on the Club’s all-time appearance list behind Pat Stanton (617), Arthur Duncan (626) and Gordon Smith (636).

Alongside this, he’s the only player in Hibernian FC history to have lifted both the League Cup and Scottish Cup.

Lewy is still producing eye-catching performances and has been ever reliable since penning his last one-year deal. He was named the Players’ Player of the Season at the conclusion of the 2021/22 campaign and has gone on to make 27 appearances during the current season. He also scored the goal that secured our top six spot as we drew 1-1 away at St Johnstone – his 10th goal for the Club!

After penning a new deal, Lewis Stevenson said: “Everyone knows how much Hibs means to me and I’d like to play here for the rest of my career.

“I feel pretty good, there are little things I can’t do that I did 10 years ago, but I still feel good physically, and feel like I can help the team both on and off the pitch.

“I never imagined I’d go on to make as many appearances for Hibs as I have, but I want to keep working hard, playing, and have more success here.”

Hibernian FC Manager Lee Johnson added: “In this modern day and age, it’s not often you have a player that shows the kind of loyalty Lewy has to Hibs.

“He has rightly written his name into the Club’s history books and I think everyone can see that he’s still going strong.

“He’s really humble, a fantastic human-being, and is exactly the type of person we want at this Football Club, so we’re delighted that he will stay with us for another year.”
