Representing the Hibees at Hampden this weekend are FIFA eSports professionals Michael Fisher and Gary McInnes.

Michael, originally from Dundee, grew up in Fife and has been involved in FIFA eSports for over three years and has gone on to rank amongst the best in Europe while competing in the ePremier League and representing Scotland at the World Championships in Denmark.

“This is a huge step forward for growth in Scottish eSports, and I’m delighted to represent Hibernian this weekend. It is an amazing opportunity to represent such a great club and I can’t wait to try and bring home the trophy”.

Gary, born and raised in Glasgow, began competing competitively over four years ago. Like Michael, Gary has also represented Scotland and even won silver at the eSports Commonwealth Games in Birmingham before going on to play with TeamGB in Turkey at last year’s Global Games.

“It’s amazing to see the launch of the eScottish Cup as we’ve needed an eSports tournament like this within Scotland for a while. It’s thrilling to now get the chance to compete in one, and represent one of the biggest clubs in the country at the same time.”

You can keep up to date with Gary and Michael’s progress this Sunday with updates on Twitter @escottishcup as well as watch live on the dedicated Twitch channel.

The Club is excited to venture further into competitive eSports, with opportunities for fans of all ages to represent the club in future tournaments.
