Goals from Josh Landers and Rudi Molotnikov secured the points for the home side at HTC in what was a physical encounter at HTC.

The Hibees used the opportunity to give important minutes to several members of the First Team squad with Max Boruc, Riley Harbottle, Dylan Levitt, Jair Tavares, Allan Delferrière and Josh Campbell all included in the starting XI.

Jacob Blaney was also back in the starting XI for the first time in several months after recovering from a shoulder injury, whilst Josh Landers started up-front for the Hibees.

Riley Harbottle - who was named captain by Guillaume Beuzelin - had the first half-chance of the match, getting on the end of a corner quick but he couldn't direct his header on target.

Dean Cleland also had a sighting on goal, the young Hibs forward got himself into a good position at the back post but the ball bounced awkwardly in front of him and he failed to get a solid connection on the ball to properly test Samuel Kane in the Queen's Park goal.

Chances were few and far between in the opening 45 minutes as both teams battled the wind at HTC and struggled to carve out any real clear-cut opportunities.

But on the stroke of half-time, Josh Landers opened the scoring with an excellent goal. The 16-year-old took his opportunity brilliantly, latching onto a ball over the top before showing great strength to hold off his man and firing his shot in at the near post to give the Hibees the lead at the interval.

The game opened up in the second half, with both teams creating chances as legs began to tire. Max Boruc was called into action for the first time shortly after the break, making a routine stop to keep the scores level.

Owen Hastie then flashed an excellent cross across the box, which only needed a touch from a green and white jersey for what would've been an easy tap-in.

Allan Delferrière then had an even better chance to double our advantage. Rudi Molotnikov and Josh Campbell combined well down the left-hand side before cutting it back to Delferrière on the edge of the area. The Belgian caught it sweetly but saw his effort rebound back off the right-hand post and away to safety.

Max Boruc then pulled off a great save to protect our lead, Queen's Park striker Liam McLeish got in behind and was in one vs one with just the 'keeper to beat, but Max stood up well and made himself big to block the striker's effort.

Rudi Molotnikov then sealed the points for the Hibees with another great finish. Landers turned provider this time, setting up his U18 team-mate who caught the ball sweetly on the half-volley and found the bottom corner.

That was the final action of note in the match, as Beuzelin's side picked up their first three points in the cinch Reserve League.
