Rangers got the match underway and had the first chance of the match three minutes in. Rachel Rowe took the ball on a mazy run across the Hibs box before laying it back to Kirsty Howat, who sent her shot wide of the post.
Just a minute later, Katie Fraine bravely challenged the ball while Rangers were through on goal. The goalkeeper took a knock but was able to carry on.
Hibernian’s first opportunity of the game came in the 8th minute, Jorian Baucom was fouled on the edge of the area after taking the ball on the half turn and spinning the defender. It was Poppy Lawson who stood over the ball and could only send her shot over the bar.

With 20 minutes on the clock, neither team seemed to have settled and slack passes were plentiful. Both sides were getting their share of chances, Lawson kept Rangers at bay after blocking a goal-bound shot, and Baucom sent a shot wide from a tight angle shortly after.
Tegan Bowie was unlucky not to break the deadlock in the 28th minute as she whizzed the ball wide of the far post after taking the ball on a long run down the left side of the pitch past multiple opposition players.
A minute later, Hibs were left to rue their missed chances. Howat took a short corner and received the ball back inside the box at a tight angle, before firing her shot through the legs of Fraine to make it 1-0 to the home side.
In the 35th minute, Rangers had their second. Howat had her shot inside the box saved, however Fraine couldn’t keep hold of it and the ball fell into the path of Rio Hardy who tapped it into the open net.
Rangers had found their stride and the chances kept coming for the Govan side, with Fraine making an impressive double save. Despite this, Rangers netted a third with four minutes left of the half. Hardy whipped in a cross which Fraine came to collect, the goalkeeper wasn’t able to keep hold of it and Howat pounced to slot the ball home.
Hibs made a good showing of themselves for the first half an hour with the teams looking even. However, it wasn’t enough and Rangers went into the break with a three goal lead.

Hibs made their first substitution during the break, with Rosie Livingstone and Nina Wilson coming on for Bowie and Fraine.
Three minutes after the restart, Brooke Nunn looked to have sent Baucom through on goal with a perfectly weighted pass until the linesmen signalled play to be called back for offside.
With 52 minutes on the clock, Rangers had a fourth. Hardy took the ball down the line, and cut the ball back to Howat to set the number 9 up for her third of the game.
Two minutes later and it wasn’t getting any better for Hibs. Kathryn Hill headed the ball past Wilson following Rachel McLauchlan's long ball into the box.
Hibs made their second change on the hour mark as Eilidh Adams replaced Baucom.
The tempo of the match dropped following the two goals, with neither side having major chances. Livingstone dribbled past a defender but couldn't beat the keeper with her shot, before Shannon McGregor had a shot blocked on the edge of the box.

Soon after, Livingstone had the ball at her first once more. The youngster went on a mazy run and sent the ball across the box but Nunn scuffed her volley wide of the post.
Hibernian’s final changes of the match came in the 76th minute, with Michaela McAlonie and Shannon Leishman replacing Lauren Doran-Barr and Nunn.
Megan Bell made it six for Rangers in the 83rd minute, placing her free-kick on the edge of the box into the bottom right corner of the goal.
With the last kick of the match, Howat scored her fourth and Rangers’ seventh as she dinked the ball over Wilson.
A tough match for Hibs at Ibrox, next up for the Hibees is Hamilton Accies at Meadowbank Stadium.
