Montgomery arrived on Monday and got straight to work getting to know his squad, and putting them through their paces ahead of the trip to Kilmarnock this weekend.
One player - who knows Montgomery well - is Lewis Miller, with the two having first met during their time at Central Coast Mariners in Australia.
Speaking to Hibs TV, Lewis Miller explained his connection with Montgomery and what to expect from our new Head Coach.
“I first knew Nick during my time at Mariner’s Academy, I worked my way up to the First Team and then a year or so later he was appointed the First Team Manager.
“He gave me my first big shot in the team and I thrived and kicked on from there. He is a great bloke and we are all very happy to have him on board.
“He has very high standards, which is what I like about him. Anyone who is out of place, he will put them in line. It is tough love, he will respect each player individually and their ability but if you put one foot out of place, he will let you know.

“The energy right now is very high, everyone respects him and we all value what he has to say. He is a former player as well who has played at the top level. We are all very excited to work with him.”
Miller will be hoping he can continue his impressive start to the 2023/24 campaign. The right-back has made eight appearances so far this season, which is already half of Miller’s total appearances during an injury-influenced first season in Scotland. Now, the Australian is looking to kick on, starting with a positive result against Kilmarnock on Saturday.
“I think everyone is beginning to see the real Lewis Miller now, I am getting a lot more game time and I am starting to perform.
“At the moment, I just wanted to keep moving forward on an upward path and keep excelling.

“It has been a good week for us all. The new Gaffer has come in and everyone has begun to gel with one another.
“We know Kilmarnock will be a tough game for us, they have had a few good results at home against Celtic and Rangers so they will be looking to cause another upset on Saturday.”
