Our new Head Coach has been in the building for less than two weeks but the Hibs defender insists Nick Montgomery – and his new coaching staff – have made an overwhelmingly positive first impression on the group.
“Every training session we have had since the Gaffer came in has been really good. There has been a lot of tactical work and it feels like we are going into games well-organised with a good game plan.
“A lot of the lads have been very impressed with the tactical knowledge of him (Nick Montgomery) and his staff. The ideas that the Gaffer is trying to bring to the team have all been positive, and I am sure we will benefit from it long term.
“The style of football has changed, and our training sessions have been more intense, more tactical and have been really enjoyable.”
Fish returned to Hibs in the summer – on loan from Manchester United – after an impressive first spell at Easter Road last season. Fish has played every minute of the opening five cinch Premiership matches this season, but admits that the best is still to come from the 20-year-old defender.

“My return to Hibs hasn’t gone as well as I have hoped to be honest. But that is football, you have to take the ups and the downs and you need to remain level-headed. Football can quickly change and I have felt more confident and a bit sharper over the last few weeks so I am looking to kick on from here.
“As a team, we are looking to maximise our points over the next week and we are hoping to get to a semi-final at Hampden. We are all relishing that challenge."
