The Hibees completely dominated the proceedings and had 23 chances to boot, but were unable to find a way past an inspired Trevor Carson in the Dee’s goal.
When speaking after the game, our Head Coach praised the players for their efforts but bemoaned that clinical edge in front of goal.
“The whole crowd were wondering how we didn’t get three points and no doubt in their dressing room they’ll be delighted to get away with a point.
“A frustrating afternoon, we did everything but put the ball in the back of the net; that happens sometimes. We’ve got disappointed players in there because we created so many chances; 23 shots and 10 on target to their two on target, so that’s disappointing. Their goalkeeper seemed to drop on everything, so must’ve got his positioning right or they had that little bit of luck.
“We could’ve been better at times at finding players in the box, but it wasn’t to be today.
“I was really proud of the players’ effort, it’s been a massive week, we got a clean sheet, and we will take the positives out of it and get working on the training ground. It wasn’t there for us today to put the ball into the back of the net.”

Despite the frustration, the Hibees are five unbeaten in all competitions, and four under Nick Montgomery.
And our Head Coach believes there’s a number of positives to take from that performance.
“There were so many positives. Davie is a top-class goalkeeper; he’s had virtually nothing to do in the whole game and in that one moment he showed that. They had a counter-attack, Boyley should’ve brought their man down – a sportsman foul – and they skipped away. In that moment you need your ‘keeper to stand big and he did. That would’ve been devastating if that would’ve gone in because the amount of opportunities, we created was huge.
“In most games we’ve had 20 odd shots and some really big opportunities, so if we keep playing like that the wins and goals will come.
“We’ll dust the boys down now and get ready for the Derby.”
