In what was a game full of chances at Easter Road, the Hibees couldn’t find a way past the Dee’s goalkeeper Trevor Carson to make it three wins in eight days.

Despite only picking up a point, the players were applauded off by the Hibs fans, a moment that made Lewis Stevenson proud.

“I think it’s a frustrating result,” he explained to Hibs TV. “We had a lot of the ball and most of the action around their goal. They are an attacking threat too, they’ve got a lot of good players, and Marsh pulled off an amazing save, but if we had the break of the ball in their box it might’ve been a bit different.

“I’ve played a lot of 0-0s at Easter Road, but I think the fans can see we’re trying to do the right things. They clapped us off the pitch again which was great, as 0-0s go I thought it was a decent game.”

That was the third game in just eight days for the Hibees, who now go into the Edinburgh Derby next weekend five games unbeaten in all competitions.

Stevenson explained how the players are still working on Montgomery’s new style of play and hope to implement it even more at Tynecastle next weekend.

“I think you can see the identity coming across already. It’s a very attacking brand of football and we do create a lot of chances. Hopefully the fans can see that and enjoy it.

“We’ve scored a lot of goals, but we’ve had some clean sheets recently too, which is a big positive considering we were struggling for them at the start of the season.

“Hearts got a decent win today, so they’ll be confident too. I’ve been involved in a lot of derbies, and mostly it’s a moment of magic or a mistake that can change the game. We’ll give it everything we've got and hopefully that’ll stand us in good stead.”
