The 26-year-old will now re-join his old side in the fourth-tier of English football for the remainder of the 2023/24 campaign.
McKirdy has made 26 appearances since his deadline day switch to Hibs in the summer of 2022.
After recently recovering from heart surgery, McKirdy has been working his way back to full fitness and has the opportunity to play regularly back at Swindon Town.
During his previous spell with ‘The Robins’, McKirdy fired the Club towards promotion scoring 23 goals in 44 games during the 2021/22 campaign. He was also named in the PFA Team of the Season for his performances.
He will now link up with Swindon Town, once again, who currently sit 14th in English League Two having earned 37 points from 29 games.
On the loan move, Hibernian FC Head Coach Nick Montgomery said: “Harry has worked very hard to get back on the pitch and after everything he has been through, he is now in a good place.
“When the interest came for Harry, we had a good conversation and we felt that it would be a good opportunity for him to get more game-time than what was potentially on offer here.
“With players coming back from international duty and injuries, this gives Harry the opportunity to push on and to come back at the end of the season with minutes under his belt at a club he is really comfortable at, and grow in confidence with each game."
