Rocky Bushiri returned to the Hibernian Training Centre yesterday (Thursday 15 February, 2024) after spending the last eight weeks on international duty with DR Congo.
His nation managed to get into the third-place play-off in the African Cup of Nations, having a memorable campaign and pulling off a number of upsets along the way.
The centre-half didn’t manage to add to his solitary cap during the major competition, but came back to Edinburgh buoyed from the experience.
Alongside Rocky’s return, Nick Montgomery is only now without Owen Bevan, Josh Campbell, and Jake Doyle-Hayes from his mathday squad.
When speaking ahead of the Aberdeen fixture, our Head Coach explained that he welcomes the upcoming selection headache.
“We go into the game with a strong squad and the hardest job this week will be picking the team, but they’re the headaches you want as a manager.
“We’ve made a lot of changes over the last few weeks, and been welcoming boys back from injuries and international duty. We managed to get Rocky back yesterday.
“Every session is important. Hopefully Rocky comes out of today’s session ok and we will pick the squad and the team today and head up to Aberdeen, for what will be a tough game.”
