Martin Boyle was frustrated that Hibs didn’t come away from Aberdeen with all three points.

It was an end-to-end game at Pittodrie, with both sides creating a number of chances and VAR taking centre-stage.

The Australian international opened the scoring with a cool, calm finish, before the Hibees had to fight back to earn a point on their travels.

When speaking after the match, Boyle was disappointed with the goals Hibs conceded and believes there’s more work to be done to tighten up at the back.

“It was an entertaining game but not the result we wanted in the end. Conceding so quickly after scoring the first goal wasn’t great for us. We have to defend the box better. We’ve been working on it all week, but will have to go back to that and work on it even harder.

“There were spells where we were under pressure, but I felt like we defended well mostly.

“We had a few half chances but didn’t defend the way we’re supposed too and conceded sloppy goals. We scored two great goals. The second was a bit of genius coming off the bench - the subs have been great the last few weeks and have been playing their part.

“It was chaotic with some of the decisions and a bit stop start, but we will take the point and move forward to next week.”

Boyle has been in red hot form since the Asian Cup scoring two goals in three games, and looking an ever-present threat down the right hand-side.

“I’ve loved every minute and I’m glad I’m contributing again. I had a sticky spell before I left for the Asian Cup, but I’m glad I’m back on the scoresheet and making assists. I hope I can continue contributing to the team.”
