Africa Cup of Nations - Rocky Bushiri and Jojo Wollacott

Rocky Bushiri and Jojo Wollacott are out in the Ivory Coast, representing DR Congo and Ghana respectively at the African Cup of Nations.

The tournament begins on Saturday 13 January when hosts Ivory Coast take on Guinea-Bissau.

DR Congo have been drawn in Group F alongside Morocco, Tanzania and Zambia. Rocky played 90 minutes for The Leopards in a warm-up match with Burkina Faso, losing 2-1 in Abu Dhabi.

This will be Rocky’s first taste of international tournament football, whereas Jojo will be competing in his second AFCON Finals.

Wollacott played all three of Ghana’s matches in the 2022 competition in Cameroon and will be hoping to add to his tally this time around.

Ghana have been drawn in Group B alongside seven-time champions Egypt, Cape Verde and Mozambique.

Other tournament favourites include hosts Ivory Coast, World Cup Semi-Finalists Morocco, Nigeria and holders Senegal.

The knockout stages of the competition begins on Saturday 27 January with the final taking place on Sunday 11 February 2024.

Asian Cup - Lewis Miller and Martin Boyle

Australian duo, Lewis Miller and Martin Boyle, will represent the Socceroos in the Asian Cup which begins on Friday 12 January 2024 in Qatar.

The Socceroos have been drawn in Group B and will face India, Syria and Uzbekistan in the group stages.

Graham Arnold’s side spent their pre-tournament camp in Abu Dhabi, where they beat Bahrain 2-0 in a warm-up match.

The Socceroos will fancy themselves to progress out of their group and go deep into the tournament having won the competition on home soil back in 2015 and reached the last 16 of the World Cup 13 months ago in Qatar.

Other tournament favourites include the hosts and current holders Qatar, Japan, South Korea and Saudi Arabia.

The knockout stages begin on Sunday 28 January, with the final taking place on Saturday 10 February, 2024.

This will be both Boyle and Miller’s first major international tournament with the Socceroos!
