Grant Scott is "delighted to stay" on as Hibernian Women Head Coach after penning a new two-year deal with the Club.

The 51-year-old returned to Hibernian in May 2023 and immediately secured a top-six finish in his first season back at the helm.

Significant strides have been made this season under Scott's guidance, with the Hibees currently joint top of the SWPL and looking forward to a showpiece Sky Sports Cup Final versus Rangers in March.

"I am thoroughly delighted. We have been talking about [the extension] for a few weeks now. I’m happy to be here and delighted to stay," Scott told HibsTV after penning a new deal.

"I spoke to Malky [Mackay] early in the year and we have got some plans going forward. He was hoping I would stay and be a part of that, and I want to stay and be part of things going forward.

"It was a very simple conversation. I’m delighted to be here and working for Malky as well. This football club means a lot to me. Everything was very positive and very easy."

Our Head Coach has past experience in leading Hibernian to silverware. During his first spell in charge, Hibs sealed a Scottish Cup and League Cup double in 2018 before later venturing to new heights in the Women's Champions League.

With those memories in mind, Scott admits he is eager to challenge for trophies once more - starting with the Sky Sports Cup Final next month - while continuing to improve the Club on and off the pitch.

"It is one of my own personal goals when coming back to the Club, to see if we could take this group to competing for those trophies again. Being in another final, it’s not been that long since the Club was in one but I feel we are in a stronger position to compete this time.

"There is no getting away from [the final] being a tough challenge but it would be incredibly rewarding to give everyone in the building and connected to the club that success, especially the players for the work they have done this year. It would be an incredible achievement."

"I still feel we are still in progress at this stage. We’ve got ourselves in a good position this season," he added.

"Last season was probably not as successful as we were hoping on the field. But together with the football club, and across all the departments and with our commercial partners, we are driving forward and I think on the field this season we have done a lot better.

"There are signs of things coming together now. There is unfinished business here, so it is important we keep pushing forward.

"We are viewed as the underdog externally. And we are quite happy with that. We will go about our business quietly, as we have all season. The players and staff deserve immense credit for the position we are in.

"We are hungry, we want a bit more. We want to see how far we can take it. It is exciting times for the Club."
