Grant Scott welcomed in a third new addition to his squad as pre-season got under way at HTC this week – with winger Tiree Burchill signing on for the season ahead!

The 20-year-old put pen to paper on a one-year deal with Hibs Women, arriving in Leith following a one-season stay at Partick Thistle.

Daughter of former Celtic men’s forward Mark Burchill, Tiree followed in her father’s footsteps by coming through the youth system at the Glasgow club.

At Celtic, Burchill would make her senior debut in an 8-0 drubbing of Motherwell on 6 June 2021, aged 16.

Following productive loan spells with Hamilton Academical and Motherwell, helping the latter to the 2022/23 Scottish Cup Semi-Final, the attacker pushed into the First Team fold more regularly during Celtic’s title-winning 2023/24 campaign, scoring six league goals in 15 appearances.

As well as earning her first league winners’ medal, Burchill would also venture into European football; playing in a UEFA Women’s Champions League qualifying round victory over Brøndby, before scoring in a penalty shoot-out versus Vålerenga in the next stage – though Celtic would lose the shoot-out 11-10.

She would depart Celtic following the 2023/24 campaign and sign on with Partick Thistle.

A strong start with the Jags resulted in Burchill scoring the August 2024 SWPL Goal of the Month – which was later voted the 2024/25 SWPL Goal of the Season!

Her looping volley against Spartans beat out notable contenders, including Kathleen McGovern’s long-range strike for the Hibees versus Rangers in December.

A strong season at Petershill Park ensued, with the versatile winger netting nine times in 32 league appearances across the 2024/25 campaign as Thistle comfortably finished seventh in the league.

Burchill has earned over a dozen youth caps for her country, with a first Scotland Under-23 appearance coming in May 2025 versus Iceland.

Her starring moment came in an UEFA Under-19s European Championship qualifying match versus Liechtenstein, as she grabbed an incredible hat-trick inside just 25 minutes back in April 2024.
