View our image gallery from another memorable night at Easter Road as we kicked off our 150th Anniversary season in style.

The Hibees edged out Rot-Weiss Essen 3-2 on the night in what was a lively and entertaining game from start to finish.

The game proved to be a good run-out for both teams as preparation continues for the start of the 2025/26 campaign, but off the pitch – the match carried extra historical significance.

It was the first time Rot-Weiss Essen had returned to Easter Road since 1955 – when we played in the inaugural European Cup and became the first British Club to do so.

Over 2,000 Essen fans travelled over from Germany to mark the occasion, creating a carnival atmosphere inside Easter Road from start to finish.

In addition, as part of the Club’s 150th Anniversary plans, the East Stand was officially renamed ‘The Pat Stanton Stand’ with a special unveiling taking place before kick-off with Pat himself.
