You’d be mistaken for thinking that Hibernian had already covered all the bases when it came to mastering dead-ball situations before the arrival of Naomi Powell. However, she still manages to offer a whole new dimension to such instances.
There’s a slight clue in her surname…
Starting her career in her native USA before crossing the Atlantic to become a mainstay in Nottingham Forest’s line-up - Naomi Powell played a handful of summer friendlies at Meadowbank before being officially unveiled as a Hibernian player earlier this summer.
Her first goal for the club came in a 4-1 victory against Montrose in the league - where she put her aforementioned set-piece skills to the test.
Also proving adept when taking corners, she would provide Abbie Ferguson with the winning goal in the latest Edinburgh derby, the deflected effort meaning we claimed the Capital Cup once again.
