Nottingham-born and bred, Harbottle joined the Forest Academy at the age of seven and progressed all the way up through the youth ranks to the First Team.
Harbottle signed his first professional contract in 2017 (aged 17) and went on to captain the U18 and U23 Forest Academy sides, featuring regularly in the FA Youth Cup and Premier League 2 during his time within the Academy.
The 22-year-old defender went on to make his First Team debut for Nottingham Forest in the EFL Cup against Bradford in August 2021. Harbottle then started the following match in the competition against Premier League opposition Wolves.
Harbottle has enjoyed two spells on loan during his career so far – the first, a move to National League side Wealdstone where the youngster experienced his first taste of senior football. This move was initially on an emergency loan, which was then extended, with Harbottle making 11 starts in two months for the London side.
The Englishman’s most recent loan spell was with Mansfield Town. The defender spent the whole of the 2022/23 campaign with the English League Two side making 37 appearances in total – including 31 starts predominantly at left-centre back.
