Born in Nantes, France, in 1999, Youan began his career with his boyhood club, FC Nantes. Having come through the youth ranks since the age of eight, he played for FC Nantes II before making his professional debut on 14 May, 2019.
He went on to make eight appearances for the club across all competitions, scoring one goal before joining Swiss club FC St. Gallen on loan. During his first season in Switzerland, the youngster impressed, scoring five goals and picking up seven assists in 33 appearances during the 2020/21 campaign.
That led to his move being made permanent in the summer of 2021. He added another seven goals and four assists in 20 appearances in the first six months of the season before joining Belgian first division side KV Mechelen in January this year.
Six months later, Youan is now a Hibee and supporters can expect a versatile, pacey forward with an eye for goal – scoring 22 times and creating 14 goals in his 96 club career appearances so far.
Youan has also been capped at an international age-grade level, representing France at U18s, U19s and U20s. At each level he has found the back of the net frequently, scoring four times in seven games for the U18s, three goals in ten at U19s and hitting the back of the net twice in seven appearances for the U20s.
He then joined Hibs permanently in the summer of 2023 after an extremely impressive loan spell with the Club.
