Our Number Nine, Eilidh Adams!
Born in Newcastle upon Tyne but raised in Edinburgh, lifelong Hibee Eilidh Adams joined Hibs after starting her football career at youth level with city neighbours Boroughmuir Thistle.
Aged just 15, Adams was handed her senior debut at Hibs Women by Grant Scott, coming on as a substitute in a 3-0 victory over Hamilton Academical in a Scottish Cup quarter-final clash on 19 September 2019.
A first start followed a few months later in November 2019, with the young striker grabbing two assists in a 7-2 thrashing of Stirling University
Despite her young age, Adams quickly lit up the league – even scoring a crucial Edinburgh Derby strike in front of a then-record breaking crowd in 2021. At the end of the 2020/21 season, in her first full season with the First Team, she was named the SWPL Young Player of the Year.
The forward, who can play across the entire frontline, continued to shine for the Club, grabbing 13 goals and 14 goals across the 2022/23 and 2023/24 campaign, respectively – with one particular special strike against Partick Thistle earning Adams our 2022/23 Goal of the Season award.
Adams netted her first professional hat-trick versus Hamilton in October 2023. Just one month later she grabbed another, putting three past Dundee United in the SWPL Cup while donning the captain’s armband on her 100th appearance for the Club.
This progression led to Adams having a memorable 2024/25 campaign, scoring a personal-high 27 goals in 31 appearances as she helped guide Hibs Women to their fourth-ever Scottish Women’s Premier League title.
This stellar campaign led to great recognition of Adams’ performances, with the striker picking up the Club’s Player of the Year and Fans’ Player of the Year award, winning her first SWPL Player of the Month honour, and named in the PFA Scotland Team of the Year – as well as nominated for both PFA Scotland’s Player of the Year and Young Player of the Year awards.
Adams, a regular starter, and scorer, for Scotland at youth level, made her senior Scotland ‘A’ Squad debut on 21 February 2025 in an away UEFA Nations League match versus Austria. She would make her Hampden debut four days later versus the Netherlands.
