Michaela McAlonie has committed her future to Hibernian Women after putting pen to paper on a new deal until 2027!
The Edinburgh-born youngster started off at Hearts and played senior women’s football in her early teens, before starring in the topflight for the first time with Edinburgh neighbours Spartans.
McAlonie was named the SWPL Player of the Month in April 2019 aged just 17 years old with Spartans – which was the first time a player at the Pilton club had won the award.
The combative midfielder’s cross-city move to Hibs was completed in July 2021, with Micky quickly becoming a popular and influential member of the Hibees squad – reaching 100 appearances for the Club in November 2024 during our Sky Sports Cup Quarter-Final victory over Partick Thistle.
McAlonie has accrued 122 appearances in Green and White in total, while also netting 26 goals for the Hibees – including four strikes in one single Scottish Cup clash versus St Johnstone in January 2024!
A fans’ favourite in Leith, McAlonie was crucial to our first league title win in 18 years as she missed just one match across all competitions throughout the 2024/25 season; contributing four goals and 10 assists from the middle of the park.
McAlonie has also made over 30 appearances for Scotland at youth level – most recently starring across two Under-23 matches versus Portugal and Denmark, picking up the Player of the Match award in the latter encounter.
