Poppy Lawson joined Hibs Women from Manchester United in 2022!
The assured centre-back was captain of the Red Devils’ Under-21 side at just 18 years of age. In her final year with United, she lifted the FA WSL Academy League as skipper.
She signed her first professional contract in the summer of 2022 when she moved to the Scottish capital and joined the Hibees.
Learning from experienced pros Joelle Murray and Siobhan Hunter, Lawson had a great start to life in Edinburgh – playing an instrumental role in multiple Derby Day victories over Hearts, scoring twice against Aberdeen in the League Cup and netting a vital late equaliser versus Glasgow City in the league.
During the Hibees’ 2024/25 Scottish Women’s Premier League title triumph, Lawson played 14 times and scored three goals from defence – including a phenomenal long-range strike against Dundee United at Foundation Park.
